Here are some little animations that I've made over time. I really like animation and I want to get more into it and practice more so maybe in the future I could make longer ones. I hope you enjoy!
Old Flipnote Stuff
I think most if not all of these are from 2015. They aren't particularly exciting and I don't have anything useful to say about these, I just wanted to share them. I like the one of the guy getting smaller.
Here are some little sticky note animations that I made in 2017. The first one was made in August and the second one was made in November. I enjoyed making these. I would like to make some more animated stuff on sticky notes. I have a lot of them. Maybe I will experiment with them a bit soon ... or later.
I started this in December 2018. This took me longer than I wanted it to. I finished it June 2019. Here are some progress gifs. I did rotoscope this. Someone else made the original gif and I wanted to draw over it for some reason. I had started this style of lining things regularly, but the shading is geometric and I really wanted to do that with this. The one with red lines was my original sketch and then the one with purple lines and a dark brown border was my second sketch.
More progress gifs. One with just the final lines and some things already shaded in and then the second being just the lines with shading. I wanted to add much more shading to this besides just the dark brown parts, but that would have taken me much longer to finish this and I really liked how it looked with just that being the shading.
Here are final pieces of it. I originally planned to actually recreate what was behind them, but I didn't want to spend any longer on it. I couldn't figure out which color I liked best for it. I'm not so sure if you could notice, but when I was talking about the shading before, whenever I made that one gif I didn't have just the dark brown being there in mind so later on I had to add more to it. Holy shit! I didn't realize how large these gifs were.
This one I am currently working on. I started this in June 2019. The whole idea of it is to use that style that David Cowles had for the Johns on Here Comes Science and apply it to a realistic version of them. I really wanted to do some more stylized rotoscoping and of course this one also has to do with They Might Be Giants. I wanted to rotoscope a simple interview of them where they are both moving, but not too much. I definitely did not want the camera to move since that would mean I would have to draw a background multiple times or at least would have to move it a bit. I wanted to use an interview from the Here Comes Science era, but didn't find one that I particularly liked that much so I used this one instead. I am only doing a brief part of it and I plan on adding the audio to it in the end.
Here is some progress stuff. I am dumb and I don't look at the frame from before so their ties and collars move around more than I want them to. I could fix them, but that's quite some work for a project that's made just for fun. I have an idea on how to fix it so I will fix it whenever I'm done drawing over each frame. I also want to redo the background. I really like watching Linnell's hands move onto his head.
Nightcore of the Sullen Moon
I made this as a joke because my friend accidentally typed "nightcore" instead of "nightgown." The nightcore part was made in one day. I did the animation in two days. I forgot how much I liked drawing them. At first I thought to do something anime-esque or draw chibi versions of the Johns, but I just did this instead. I can't do those other things so it's best to just stick with my own style.
